In the second quarter of 2023, the top navigation and maps apps on Android in South America demonstrated diverse performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a consistent trend in weekly downloads, starting from 215K in late March and reaching a peak of around 248K in early April. Downloads stabilized around the 210K-230K range for the rest of the quarter. The app also maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users fluctuating around 3.9M to 4.1M.

Google Earth experienced a steady download rate, beginning at approximately 94K weekly downloads and slightly declining to around 86K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 600K to 635K throughout the quarter.

GPS Navigation: Live Earth Map showed a varied download pattern, starting with 29K in late March and peaking at nearly 39K in late April. Downloads then saw a decrease, settling around 25K by the end of June. Active users increased steadily from 142K to over 181K during the same period.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation had a consistent download trend, starting at 27K and maintaining an average of 26K downloads weekly. The app’s active users ranged from 72K to 82K, showing minor fluctuations throughout the quarter. Revenue varied slightly, peaking at $304 in mid-June.

Radar Map, Radar Detector, HUD saw significant growth in downloads, with an initial 18K in late March rising to over 36K by late May. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, starting at 45K and reaching nearly 89K by the end of June.
